Frankincense has been used for over 5,000 years in meditation, religious ceremonies, healthcare, beautification and perfumery. The ancient Egyptians revered it highly and spent fortunes importing the resin for use in, among other things, the renowned scent known as Kyphi, which played an important role as a sacred fragrance in many ceremonies.
A small incision is made in trees grown in Somalia to collect the resin, this is then steam distilled to create the prized essential oil. It helps to reduce anxiety and nervous tension and restores inner tranquility. In skincare it is often used for the drier and more mature skin type.
Sweet orange oil is expressed from the peel of the fruit and has a sweet, harmonious scent. Abahna source this essential oil from Brazil. It is a natural calmative helping to clear the mind and uplift the senses.
